Junior IT Support Engineer

A successful IT Support Engineer must have a thorough knowledge of computer software and hardware and a variety of internet applications, networks and operating systems.

He/she will also have great troubleshooting abilities and attention to detail.

  • Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices (routers, printers etc.)

  • Check computer hardware (HDD, mouses, keyboards etc.) to ensure functionality

  • Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications

  • Develop and maintain local networks in ways that optimize performance

  • Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems

  • Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment

  • Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work

  • Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging etc.)

  • Identify computer or network equipment shortages and place orders

  • Provide support through the telephone to users to ensure that a fast and user-friendly service can be offered.

  • Perform administrative tasks with regard to the network to ensure that standards are met.

  • Update and maintain professional knowledge and technical skills to ensure that our own professional knowledge is maximized and that we can apply it within the organization in the best possible manner.

What do we expect from you?

  • Degree in Computer Science, engineering or relevant field (Bac +2 to Bac +3 in a technical IT field)

  • Understand the technological bases related to the hardware architectures

  • Basic technical skills:

    Windows 10: installation, configuration, Office 365Linux: installation and configuration of servers

    TCP/IP networks

  • The plus (basic knowledge or more, nice to have):

    Azure, Cloud, Windows Server

    NGINX, Xen

    DNS, LDAP, PostgreSQL, MongoDB

    VMWare

    Cisco

    Windows, LPI, LFI, VMWare certification...

  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication ability

  • You adapt easily and are quickly autonomous

  • In depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks

  • Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles

  • French and/or Dutch speaker with good knowledge of the second language. Technical English
